Why does AI present such an issue and is it as dangerous as people are saying? Here we look at the good and bad
AI and what it does
Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think and learn like humans.
There are many different forms of AI, but some of the most popular include:
- Machine Learning (ML): This is a method of training algorithms to automatically improve their performance. With machine learning, computers can learn from data and make predictions or decisions without being explicitly programmed.
- Natural Language Processing (NLP): This is a field of AI that focuses on the interaction between computers and humans using natural language. NLP is used to analyze, understand, and generate human language, and is used in applications such as speech recognition, machine translation, and sentiment analysis.
- Computer Vision: This is the field of AI that deals with the understanding and interpretation of visual information, such as images and videos. Computer vision is used in applications such as image recognition, object detection, and autonomous vehicles.
- Robotics: This is the field of AI that deals with the design and development of robots. Robotics is used in a variety of applications, including manufacturing, transportation, and healthcare.
Overall, AI is used to automate tasks that would otherwise be performed by humans, and to make predictions and decisions based on data. It can help with the efficiency and accuracy of certain tasks.
The uses of AI
AI is increasingly being used in a wide range of industries, including healthcare, finance, transportation, and manufacturing. It is also used in consumer applications such as virtual assistants, self-driving cars, and personalized recommendations.
AI is a broad and rapidly-evolving field, with ongoing research in areas such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, and unsupervised learning. It’s a very exciting time to be in AI with many possible applications, but also raises ethical concerns about how the technology is used.
Can you use it for blogging
Because AI draws information from previously worded sources it is potentially going to be bordering on plagiarism and getting whacked by Google.
However, it can be a great source of information
The latest version of ChatGPT is going to change a lot of things where writing is required.
I used it to write a Birthday message to my wife and it did a good job
It should be remembered, however, that it is not always correct and can make big mistakes so careful reading is required.
Will AI take over the world as we know it?
Google and Meta have been talking about how A.I. will change everything for years now and we all know that Elon Musk is ahead of the curve. He started with self-driving cars, Satellites and defence for AI. He is ahead of the game.
AI is in more places than we realise and is being used every day in many ways. Certainly, health care is well ahead of the market and many processes are not previously available.
A simple example is a mobile APP that recognises Bird calls. Scientists can enter the field and quickly discover what birds are around.
Advertising agents are using it to write copy and are generally very impressed.
There are millions more applications yet Why does AI present such an issue
It may well destroy universities
When you need to write a complicated thesis it will be done for you and who can mark it down as not original work?
It is unlikely that AI will completely replace university education. While AI can be used to enhance certain aspects of education, such as personalized learning and virtual labs, there are certain things that AI cannot replace, such as the social and collaborative aspects of learning, and the benefits of having a mentor or professor who can provide guidance and feedback. Additionally, universities provide not just education but also opportunities for research, social and personal development and other benefits that can’t be replicated by AI. However, it’s likely to see a change in how education is delivered and some traditional universities may have to adapt to changing technology in order to remain competitive.
AI is protective of itself with the above paragraph coming from it. Yet I can see many a fast-track student taking an easy path.
What is my experience with AI?
It is interesting that neither Yoast nor other writing critiques give a high value to AI
The writing is Negative, the sentences too long and even the spelling grapples with US/UK versions.
It is evidently not done in a blogging fashion with short sentences and paragraphs. However, it does provide good research material. I have tried two of these now and the latest is ChatGPT which is all the rage across the world. Will it remain free is a big question.
Every writer will use it as a tool of the trade
Conclusion
I wrote this as an experience with Chat GPT.
Mine is just a small sample to set you on a path of exploration.
AI will change how we do things and touch our everyday lives in some way.
Therefore accept it as the many benefits we will gain far override the bad.
